The Rajah Indian was booked for 7.30pm. Goosey experienced a 5 minute delay in receiving his ‘special’ sizzling curry whilst DC’s curry was apparently bland and devoid of chicken. At least it didn’t blow his head off this time. Unsurprisingly everyone else really enjoyed their meals.
The minibus arrived promptly just after 9.
Return via Stoke station, Penkhull, Clayton and the Westlands, working out to be £12.50 each.

Except for Nails, the rest of us met at the Greyhound at Hartshill around 2pm armed with our Titanic/Bod cards. There were no pork pies available to satisfy Ali G’s hunger pangs so crisps had to do. Rosevilles minibus was just 5 minutes late, arriving at 3.05pm. Sadly we then hit traffic holdups around Cobridge so we opted to head straight to the Earl Grey (missing out the Blue Mugge and the Fountain) for 4pm where Nails had been hanging around outside for us to arrive.
Having only recently reopened the ale offerings were very disappointing with only Wainwrights or Pedigree?available. The new landlord was very enthusiastic and welcoming - NOT. We left after one and wandered down to the ‘Mill and Smokehouse’ where there was an abundance of choice with the Two by Two seemingly becoming a common favourite. Huge delighted in sharing the nature of the Squarry Club with a lady in a big wooly coat at the bar whilst Pedro was attracted to her dog; stroking it with 2 hands in a Tommy Cooper gesture ‘just like that’. Ali G made up for the lack of pork pies in the Greyhound by wading through 9 bags of crisps, although he could only see one bag with his bi-focal reading glasses.
Brewce’s craft ale bar was our final destination. Again a large selection of ales, but maybe pricier? They were definitely colder. Huge’s friend appeared again with her dog. Along with her partner they mentioned that they would soon be opening up a Belgium Beer bar next door in the near future. We were sure Jimmy Tarbuck was in there.
